Unique representation of an inverse-kinetic theory for incompressible Newtonian fluids

چکیده
Fundamental aspects of inverse kinetic theories for the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations [Ellero and Tessarotto, 2004, 2005] include the possibility of defining uniquely the kinetic equation underlying such models and furthermore, the construction of a kinetic theory implying also the energy equation. The latter condition is consistent with the requirement that fluid fields result classical solutions of the fluid equations. These issues appear of potential relevance both from the mathematical viewpoint and for the physical interpretation of the theory. Purpose of this work is to prove that under suitable prescriptions the inverse kinetic theory can be determined to satisfy such requirements. PACS: 47.27.Ak, 47.27.Eq, 47.27.Jv

An H-theorem for incompressible fluids
A basic aspect of the kinetic descriptions of incompressible fluids based on an inverse kinetic approaches is the possibility of satisfying an H-theorem. This property is in fact related to the identification of the kinetic distribution function with a probability density in an appropriate phase space. Goal of this investigation is to analyze the conditions of validity of an H-theorem for the i...
متن کاملPhase-space Lagrangian dynamics of incompressible thermofluids
Phase-space Lagrangian dynamics in ideal fluids (i.e, continua) is usually related to the so-called ideal tracer particles. The latter, which can in principle be permitted to have arbitrary initial velocities, are understood as particles of infinitesimal size which do not produce significant perturbations of the fluid and do not interact among themselves. An unsolved theoretical problem is the ...
متن کاملTraveling Waves of Some Symmetric Planar Flows of Non-Newtonian Fluids
We present some variants of Burgers-type equations for incompressible and isothermal planar flow of viscous non-Newtonian fluids based on the Cross, the Carreau and the power-law rheology models, and on a symmetry assumption on the flow. We numerically solve the associated traveling wave equations by using industrial data and in order to validate the models we prove existence and uniqueness of ...
متن کاملRapid mixing of Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids in a three-dimensional micro-mixer using non-uniform magnetic field
The mixing of Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids in a magnetic micro-mixer was studied numerically using ferrofluid. The mixing process was performed in a three-dimensional steady-state micro-mixer. A magnetic source was mounted at the entrance of the micro-channel to oscillate the magnetic particles. The effects of electric current, inlet velocity, size of magnetic particles, and non-Newtonia...
متن کاملLocal pressure methods in Orlicz spaces for the motion of rigid bodies in a non-Newtonian fluid with general growth conditions
In the present paper we provide the decomposition and local estimates for the pressure function for the non-stationary flow of incompressible non-Newtonian fluids in Orlicz spaces. We show that this method can be applied to prove the existence of weak solutions to the problem of motion of one or several rigid bodies in a non-Newtonian incompressible fluid with growth conditions given by an N -f...
